Auckland Women's Refuge | HOW TO DONATE

Auckland Women's Refuge is one of several Auckland based refuges that belong to the National Collective of Independent Women's Refuges. We have been operating in the inner city area since 1975. We support the women and children of this country to live free from violence.

Our refuge receives a small government grant per year, which contributes towards a quarter of our running cost. It is vital that we operate effectively by seeking financial support to make up the large shortfall. Auckland Women's Refuge rely upon both business and general public donations. Thus, we request your support in the hope that we are able to achieve our goals to make the women and children's lives safer. Donation acknowledgement for Auckland Women's Refuge support can be advertised on our website.

How to make a financial donation

  1. Automatic payments can be set up for regular donations. By sending your bank authority for automatic payment form to the address below:
    Finance will complete our details and return to your address for processing though your bank account
  2. Payment by Money Order / Cheque via Mail to:

  4. For Bequest and any other Financial Arrangement

Resource Donations

Often our client's previous personal belongings could have been either destroyed or left behind for safety reasons. When clients return to the community they often require resources for a complete household, therefore the refuge support public and company donations to help our clients move back into the community without incurring large debt.

Please ensure that all donate items are not "ends of garage sale" or commercial past use by date goods please as this is an unwanted cost to our refuge to transport to the dump.

How to Donate Resources

For clothing, childrens toys, kitchen & smaller household items, please contact our office for our drop off address which is available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 9pm by phoning Ak 378-7635 (between 9am - 3pm) otherwise leave a message after the beep on our voicemail and we will get back to you. Please box up, seal and label Women's Refuge. Please do not drop outside of these hours as we will not receive the donated items.

For large furniture items, please contact our office to arrange the first available Saturday pickup, or alternative day by phoning Ak 378-7635 (between 9am - 3pm) otherwise leave a message after the beep and we will get back to you).
